Alberta To Offer Public Land For Long-Term Care Facilities

In Monday's throne speech, the provincial government said they would consider offering public land to non-profit and private entities who are interested in building long-term care facilites in the province. Alberta has a shortage of long-term care beds and the government feels that this will help meet their goal of adding 1,000 new beds.

The speech also mentioned a focus on independent living so that seniors can stay in their homes longer. It suggested the use of innovative technologies to allow for aging in place.
