Alzheimer Society of Canada Releases PC P.E.A.R.L.S.

The Alzheimer Society of Canada has released new fact sheets to help promote person-centered care for people living with dementia in long-term care homes across Canada. They have given them the acronym PC P.E.A.R.L.S. which stand for:

  1. Person and Family Engagement
  2. Care
  3. Processes
  4. Environment
  5. Activity & Recreation
  6. Leadership
  7. Staffing

This material was developed by doing research in six long-term care homes across Canada. The fact sheets describe real world examples that other long-term care facilities can incorporate into their own care of these residents. A PDF of all the fact sheets can be downloaded here
